Chris Holbrook teaches Environmental A/V Production grades 9-12, and Drone Technology. He is a certified Adobe Education Trainer and Adobe Campus leader, as well as an Apple Teacher and Google Educator. Chris attended Chattanooga State and acquired much field knowledge prior to teaching. He has 9 years of experience in television news, 4 years experience as a producer and editor at Precept Ministries, and 6 years as the Worship Technical director at his church. This is his 11th year teaching A/V production.

“I never stop learning and exploring the world around me, all while telling others about it. My desire is that I pass the same inquisitive nature to my students. In everything we do in class, I find a way to tie it back to a real world situation.”

Chris first chose Ivy as a parent. After seeing the non-traditional learning environment and how well it worked for his son, he knew that he wanted to be a part of the Ivy family. That dream came to fruition when Ivy Academy added the Environmental Institute and had a need for an A/V Production teacher. Chris was delighted to join the family.

“The world is full of questions. We find answers with each step we take. At Ivy Academy, we can seek answers inside and outside the walls of our classroom.”

Chris and his wife of 17 years, Alicia, live in East Ridge with their children, Harrison, Kadie, and Sam. They enjoy road tripping, camping, and cooking good food over a fire or coals.

“I love a day of exploring and learning more about the world around me. I like to go hiking, canoeing, and fishing - especially fly fishing, as it helps me explore new creeks and streams.”
