Jacob Jarvis

9-12 Exceptional Education Learning Coach



Jacob Jarvis assists, supports and motivates all students in academics and coach boys and girls basketball.  Jacob graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Learning K-12.  He has also been trained in wilderness first aid, CPR, nonviolent crisis prevention intervention and received the Whatever It Takes Award and was the, Cha 2.0 Coalition Member Spotlight for April.

Jacob is a member of the Tennessee Environmental Educators Association and Professional Educators of Tennessee, and he is a Board Member for the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society (Education Chair) and Chattanooga Inclusive Education and Opportunities Work Group.  His education emphases include inclusive education, environmental education, therapeutic recreation, and coaching basketball.

Jacob enjoys backpacking, hiking with his dog Maddux,, bird watching, trail maintenance, fishing, rec league softball and basketball, coaching, Special Olympics, reading and therapeutic recreation, and he attends Calvary Chapel Chattanooga and is a small group leader there.  He is a City of Chattanooga Special Olympic Basketball head coach, and is active with Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society events: Ballin with CDSS Basketball Event,  Buddy Walk, and Dash for DS 5k and Ivy Academy Campus Clean-Up events.
