Dress Code

Administration and teachers have the final word on the dress code.  The dress code is designed to ensure safety outdoors, to make sure students can move around comfortably, and that they can fully participate in class activities without worrying about ruining nicer clothes or being a distraction to others.

Pants

Pants must be worn at waist or hips.  Sagging pants will go home with their model. 

  • Jeans with belt or suspenders
  • Khakis with belt or suspenders
  • Overalls
  • Shorts with belt or suspenders
    • Shorts are allowed during the months of August – October, and April 15 – End of school.
    • Length of shorts must come beneath fingertips when arms are hanging relaxed at sides

Shirts

Buttoned shirts may have 1 or 2 buttons left open, no more. Shirts must have full shoulder coverage (no tanks or spaghetti straps)

  • Solid-colored or striped, crew neck T-shirtNo writing except Ivy logos, official collegiate logos, or one quarter-sized logo for labels such as American Eagle or Izod.
  • Collared shirt such as polo or button shirt, does not have to be solid-colored
  • Students will have opportunity to order shirts with Ivy logo during the months of Sept. & Oct.

Shoes

Shoes must be sturdy and socks are required

  • Hiking boots or outdoor athletic shoes are ideal.
  • No sandals, flip flops, flats, open toe or open heel shoes, unless they are hiking sandals such as Chacos.  (Socks are not required with hiking sandals).

Jackets

Solid color jackets or hoodies are allowed. No hoods are to be worn in the classroom.
